3.40 gears for sale
Out of the donor axle I got we removed a set of 3.40 gears. It's complete with the spider gears (unwelded), open carrier, round shaft (not sure of the name for this) ring and pinion gears. They look good with no chips or anything. They came out of a 86 suburban truck and fit a 12 bolt 8.875" set. Asking $50 OBO. I can either ship these or bring them down on my next trip to DFW area. Buyer pays shipping if wanted shipped.

Also, will they work in a 69 12 bolt rear end with a 3 series carrier?

I would think that they would. They come with a open carrier as well but I think they should be a series 3 carrier but would probably use the one it has on there. They came out of a 86 suburban from what I was told. I used the axle in my truck and bolted up fine other than the yoke being a different size but same spline.

Brandon, an 86 never used a 12 bolt, but it is pretty common for someone to replace the 10 bolt with a 12 bolt to get the slightly stronger rear and it is easy to find 12 bolts with decent gearing. The entire carrier unit will fit a 69 TRUCK rear. DAVE

Carrier has been sold. I still have the ring and pinion for sake. $35 plus shipping takes it.
