Radio antenna options
Its time to put my antenna back on, but I'm not sure I want to use the original style. They get bent and broke off too easily. The little black plastic/rubber ones don't look that good either. Anyone ever heard of one that can either be hidden or put on a window like a decal. Just something that doesn't stick out. I think installing a retractable one would be neat, but a pain in the rear.
Any ideas that you've seen on other trucks, etc. Thanks, HG

I put a $12.99 retractable in my truck. Looks good, and I can put it down to go through the car wash. I did have to drill a hole down into the firewall to make room for it. But it is in the stock location.

The bummer about those aftermarket antennas is that the chrome dome-shaped piece that covers up the plastic base ends up rusting after a couple of years.

I've found some hidden antennas available, some with power amplifiers, some without. If any of you guys are using these, I'd like to know how your reception is and where it was mounted.
heres one: ECS Hylites I was thinking about mounting it behind the grill. There is a lot of room and the insert is plastic, so the reception should be ok. HG
