Pretty sweet huh? MtDave's 72 Longhorn (Or is it a 71?) was like that. Stickers on the drums...everything.

YO! LongHorn Man....

I decided to do the LongHorn after all. My Painter/Bodyman is a flake, like every one of them I just told him we will stop on The COPO car and do this first as I have great needs for this truck.
I took off the front 16.5 orig rims and placed them on my CC 3/4 72. I will Go with the 16X6's or 7's ---whatever they are that I have--They are stamped AA and XB I think.
Anyways, I should have the cab stripped to be Chem-Dipped after the rust repairs, cab mount supports, and lower rockers are replaced. Then it will get jammed white.
Once I get the cab back I will re-assemble that cab from the 2 I have to make one complete original assembly. As the cab is finished I will re-do the whole front suspension, take the rear axle out and have it re-done, and Imron Black the frame for re-sassembly.
I have so many neat parts for this thing besides the original equipment rare options it came with that it should be pretty nice when I am do with her.
I only have this week and weekends after this until September to get her where I want her.
On the other C/20 I have , I will need to locate a replacement cab for that one to bring that one back to drive-able. Picked up a std 350 2-bolt shortblock, will 383 her with 9:1 and a 700R-4. That should be a good utility truck so I dont rack up the miles on the LongHorn.
I am undecided as to place the #'s matching motor back in or continue with the 496 I have. I think I like torque more. we'll see......

Awesome! I saved the front end of a '72 GMC 3500 that I scrapped a couple months ago, and both of the rotors have those stickers too.

I got the rims down to be powdercoated arctic white today. Dug out the pressure blaster and cleaned off the spindles and wheel well areas. Now it's time to disassemble the front suspension...

What size rims are you running on your truck? I had some 16.5's but traded 'em for 16's.

Cab Update

Well, I FINALLY got the Cab stripped down to bare.
We will be fabricating a rolling cart for it to be moved on.
I will need to locate and buy the underside cab supports as they will need to be replaced.
Any suppliers in SoCalif? that you know of???
I have a set of NOS rockers that I will be using to replace the originals and after that I dont see anymore rust.
Once the welding is all done, I will take it to be chem stripped then I will reassemble the cab after painting it all White.
I will be needing to replace the upper interior headliner trim and need a supplier on that as well!
The Green headliner I took out seems pretty mint but I want to go with a Black one so if anyone needs this one, let me know.
I have the green door panels that will go too; the driver's side has its typical use and wear to it but the passenger's side seems rather nice. Might have both green A/C dash ducts to go too.
Eventually I will need to find another 72 cab to use on this chassis as I have darn near all of it to put another truck back together.
Any thoughts...?
Thanx!!
