how ya'll doin?
this is my first post on this message board. i would like to say hello to all the members out there. now to business. the truck, a black '72 custom/10 shortbed stepside that my grandfather bought brand new. it still looks new and the only rust i've found on it is on the bottom lip of the passenger door and the passenger side wheel well under the battery box. i guess im fortunate to have such a sweet project to build. i have a feeling you will probably be there for most of it. thank you

Welcome to the board from Tennessee.
I have a thing for black shortsteps myself. Sounds like a sweet setup you have. What kind of plans do you have for it? We need pics!

i don't what all i plan to do to it really. it's been sitting in the garage for the last 15 years. i know power brakes and power steering will some of the first things i do to it. maybe later on, air conditioning. it was originally a 307 3 speed truck. now its got a 350. a buddy of mine builds small blocks for a living, im gonna get him to help me do a intake, cam, and carb swap on it. i might go ahead and port/polish the heads in it. sorry but it will take a few days to get pics of the truck. i dont have a digital camera. i got the truck as a graduation present from my grandmama. my grandfather promised it to me years ago. the deal was i had to graduate and stay off drugs. well, here i am. i promise to post pics as soon as i have them.
i have a question concerning the interior, but i do not see a forum for it. all i need is to figure out how to get the door latch handle off on the inside. i thought that it might have been like the window crank, but its not. i was trying to take the door panel off so i could see why the window won't go down. thanks guys. ya'll have a good one. |

Same Clip
Welcome from SW PA. It should have the same type clip as your window crank. It may just clip from the opposite direction. They sell the tool at ANY auto parts store. Pry it back with a screwdriver so you can see which way the clip is facing. Good luck, you cant beat a BLACKTRUCK! Take care, Hot Rod
