New paint on the old SWB Cheyenne
Got her back today. One guy took four weeks...He said never again!
This is not a "Show Truck", so I wanted it done fast. I can't stand to see my trucks sitting in someone else's shop for months/years. It is a real nice job, but not down to the frame. I pulled all interior, trim, rubber, grill, bumpers, etc. He shot the doors, hood, TG, fenders & bed off the truck. The bed shines and looks just about as good on the inside as out. No Rhino Line here! Now the hard part...putting all the stuff back on and aligning panels. Last pic is a "before". |

Great job. Were they going to paint the gate lettering back in? Looks real good either way. I did mine the same as you. Putting it back together was actually fun. Make sure you buy about double the molding clips you think you need. The repops are cheap and half dont make it on the truck.

That's a great looking truck there!! I also love the color. I am about the same spot with my truck. Now the final assembly.
I have a quick question about your drop and wheel and tire sizes. With mine I lowered it a bit from the stock stance it is 2" in the front and 4" in the rear. I am using BFG's 255/60-15's but I feel that the wheel wells are not filled out as much as I hoped. Please let us know what your drop is and also the size of your tires because that looks bad A$$! Here is a pic of my truck now. Curt

Yes, please give us some details on the wheels and drop. Love 'em. They look like chrome ralleys with a smoothie hub cap.
Was the steel floor an option on the '72. Mine has a wood floor which I've put off refinishing since I like to actually use it for hauling crap once in a while. It's good for the truck's spirit ... you know! David

I believe the steel floor was standard in 72. If you want a steel floor I have a LWB bed I would trade for the wood floor components to change my SWB bed into a wood floor since I'm looking for a show truck! |
