87 silvy 1/2 ton axles
Hey all
I have 33" tires on my truck will my stock axles handle 35", no heavy off roading just loading and unloading my boat at the lake. but I do a lot of high way miles a year around 30000. I have a lift so I am not worryed about clearance ,just will my stock axles carry the larger tires Thanks in advance Mike |

no, you dont have enough gear for them. you will fry your trans in very short order, as well as 10 bolts just being too weak. i just broke the one in my 91 K1500 about a month ago with bald 265 75 15s on dry pavement, running a steady 25mph in traffic. ate the ring an pinion when the carrier split.

I would say change you gears, and for the freeway driving you do I would think they would be just fine. A friend of mine is running a corp 12 out back and a 10 up front, turning 38 inch swampers, and he doesnt "*****-foot" the thing around....it is used off road and abused like a redheaded step child.... he has yet to break andything more than a ujoint.....so for just hiway miles, Im sure you would be fine. Just my .02$
