Gas Tank options
When I went looking for a new gas tank for my '67 I noticed there is 2 options: with Evaporative Emission Control (EEC), and without EEC. I don't think my original tank has EEC. Would it be better to buy my new tank with, or without it? Any advice or suggestions? I'm not really sure what EEC does.
Thanks guys, Poe

You should not need the EEC tank. Basically instead of venting your tank fumes into the air, they get circulated it back into the engine's intake. That way no/less hazardous planet killing fumes get into the environment.

The EEC style tank started with the '71 model year. Earlier trucks did not have that setup. Before you buy a after market in-cab tank you may want to make a post "WTB-In-cab tank" along with your location to cut out the shipping charges. Specify, if wanting to stay a stock installation, that you have a '67 model, '67 thru '70 is what you need but a '71 or '72 year tank will also work. Lot of guys (like myself) have moved their in-cab tank to under the bed and have original tanks for sale or will give them away. If you were closer I have a really nice clean original tank complete with sending unit I could make you a deal on. From what I have seen I'm not impressed with the aftermarket tanks, much thinner metal than the originals. Just my .02 cents.

I agree that finding a good used tank should not be a problem. All the trucks I see go to the scrapyard all still have the tanks left in them.

I thought all that was different on these was the tank sending unit having the extra vent lines? Other than the canister, etc etc....
