Air ride tech's StrongArms
Is any one running these front control arms? If so how do you like them? Right now my 71 SWB when droped sits on my front lower control arm and I am trying to get about another 1-2" out of my drop. It looks like these arms have about 1" more clearance then my arms. This one inch at the arm should end up in about 1 3/4" to 2 1/2" more drop at the frame. I know I could cut chop and plate my arms but I like the look of the tube arms and they are built with better geometry for lowered rigs. I have a set but can't offer any drive-time comments.
I will say that I don't believe you'll gain much (if any) ground clearance though. The main benefit is the ease of bolting in the bag w/o plating the lower arm or using cups. I know some people don't use cups & say it works just fine but I wouldn't want anything anywhere near the bags because of the risk of rubbing/wear. So these arms do that & look better (if you like tubular arms ) @ the same time. Maybe a crossmember drop would get you the extra distance of lowering you want & still allow good suspension travel.

I've got a set on my '69. I don't believe you gain any drop with the swap, just 2° pulled out of your KPI (from a stock 4°) to help with the alignment. They're definitely not lighter (and quite possibly heavier). I've got about 1000 miles on mine. I have no complaints about the product itself... but the service is teh sux0r.

Thanks guys, Yes after making my way into the shop I moved some boxes and looked under the truck. The part that lays on the concrete it right where the lower shaft is. I thought it was farther out on the arm. Eather way the added suspention geometry sounds good to me as well as the beefed up part it self. Sorry to here about your bad customer service. I to have been dealing with them for about 5 1/2 years and at first they were more than helpfull with any questions and the last time I spoke with them it was like I was not a big enough customer for them to spend their time with. I will do some other checking around (suicide doors) before I order from them.
