68 Chevy 1/2 ton SWB Rolling Chassis
Howdy all. Long time lurker, first time poster here. I've got too many irons in the fire, so I'm giving up on this one. I love these trucks but my 71 Vette is at the top of the list right now.
Solid and straight LWB frame thats been shortened to SWB, sand-blasted, primed and painted with PPG epoxy. New Early Classic 2-1/2" drop spindle disc brake conversion. 4" drop rear springs. New Classic Tube stainless brake line kit. 12 bolt posi rear-end with 3:73 ratio(dana 60). 15 x 10 and 15 x 8.5 rims from Early Wheel with stainless trim rings and baby moons. Goodyear Eagle ST tires. Power steering. New shocks, ball joints, tie-rod ends, a-arm bushings. Manual tranny crossmember. Power master cylinder and prop. valve and stainless lines included. I live in east central Illinois. $1700. I also have a good cab, hood , grille, cowl, and decent fenders and doors available. PM me for any additional info. |

Have you ever had a body set on it to check for fit after shortening? What size are the tires? Is the m/c a frame-mount?

No I never actually put the cab on. But I did measure it about fifty times for squareness. It'll fit.
Tires are 275-60-15 rear, 245-60-15 front. m/c mounts in the normal place, it's part of the disc conversion kit. I can take some pics of the cab in the morning. |

Is it the ECE kit?I mean, does it have the adjustable Panhard bar, too? Are those V8 mounts?Lot`s of questions, but will only help.I have to many irons in the fire, too. But,am considering replacing another iron with yours before I start the forging. It`s a grat start you have there.Welcome to this site(officially).I was a longtime lurker myself, once not too long ago.

Hart_Rob here is the cab...
Its got the normal rust issues along the rockers and cab corners and floor to kickpanels. Windshield frame has a couple minor surface rust places, but nothing real bad. Cowl area is good. Last pic shows all patch panels and cab mounts that goes with the cab. I can't get pics of the other side because its up against the wall of my old 3 sided horse loafing shed I use for parts. Pretty decent cab for Illinois. rick-980 A shot of the frame connection and rear cab mount... After welding I chose to bolt 1/4" steel plate gusset rather than weld. I just didn't like the idea of all the heat in the frame. I was working on the interstate one day and noticed how bridge beam gussets for overpasses are put together. Bolts. special-k Yes, its ready for your v-8. No, I don't have the adjustable track bar. kxmotox247 I'm just south of Danville- about 15 miles. luis duran My parts bill alone for tires, rims, sand, paint, and all the other goodies is over what I am asking. Basically, you're getting a free frame and rear-end. |

This would have saved me 6 months and a few dollars. If you were closer it would be sitting in my garage (plus the body parts) by Friday, no questions asked. And just last week I asked Arnold to move CA closer to IL

Luis said he wants the frame. He asked me to give him until next Friday. I told him I would do that.
$500 for the cab. Includes instrument cluster, steering column, dent-free windshield trim, wiring harness, back glass and trim, gas tank, and all patch panels. |
