2 Q's...Shifter&Traction Bars

I was lookin up at Autozone today and a set of Lakewood Traction Bars caught my eye. Well mostly the price tag did, and I was wondering if anyone has tried anything like this out. Seems like a cool mod for my 71 but somehow the girl I was dragging behind me talked me out of them.

And I think I read a couple of threads in here about switching shifters on an sm465. I looked but all that autozone had on the shelf were for three speeds. If I were to seriously start looking for a new shifter setup, where and who should I contact. Lokar?

I don't think there's a shifter upgrade for an sm465 top loader style. Everything is under the top cover.

you could take the original 465 shifter off, cut off the old stick, and weld on a new hurst truck shifter stick, if you want style. wont improve shifting much, though. But you could just say it was a hurst shifter.
