AirBag Damage?
Hey guys, I was looking around at some kits and I was thinking, does it hurt the bag any for it to not be straight when its air up? Like will it create a weak spot in the bag or anything if the bag at normal ride height is like the cantelever set up and gotta a bend in the middle or is it better for the bag to be straight up and down like the bar?
Thanks.

Hurt? Not really. Ideal? No.

The grain trailer that hooks up to my International has a setup like the one in the right picture. Though the bags are bigger it's the same concept. Can't see why it would hurt anything.

BTW, the actual suspension setup (reverse 2-link) is not a particularly good idea.

When you mount bags on any arm front end the bag will not be square at all time! You try and make it square at ride height when possible.

That pic of the KP Components Canti set up is at full lift. Look at the difference between the bottom of the notch and axle tubes. If you plan on getting a lot of lift plan on having your bag do the same thing as it does it that pic. If you plan on keeping the bag square through it's whole cycle from collapsed to extended plan on only getting the manufacture specs out of it.
Example- F9000- min height 4.5", max height 12" Only going to get a 7.5" of lift. Not that much. KP Components- with a double convulate bag F6873= 2600# bag Min height 3", Max Height 8"- 5 inch lift......but with the KP canti expect 10-12" Hope this makes sense. |

yea this isent even a bad angle. have you even seen bags in a front set up at full lift. they look like thier gona pop out the side of the Aarms thier so sideways. double conveluted bags are made for lifing at angles like that. only bags you cant run like that are sleave bags and triple conveluted.
