Clicking from a front wheel...??
1984 1500 classic GMC PU... Sometimes front driver wheel sounds like a beerbottlecap is stuck to tire after 60km... Have wheel off, but can't find why the clicking... Any ideas out there?
AND, If I changed the 4-brl carb on 305, to a 2-brl, what would it do for gas millage? I don't need the V8 power, and I pretty much stay at 75 to 80Km on the highways... I drive slow safe and easy... [It used to be 0 or 80mph, till I slowed down, to discover that there are trees, buildings, and people in that green-blurr... and there's less chances of killing innocent critters on the road this way..] What other vehicles carry those 2-brl carbs that look like a 4-brl?... On the clicking, I had this problem once. I pulled the center cap and there was a rock in it. Put it back on, no more clicking. Since yours is at speed, I wouldn't think it would be a rock, the rock will quit clicking once you hit 15 - 20 mph. But, you may want to check that out just to be sure.
On the 2brl, if you stay out of the throttle anyway then the 2brl may not help much at all. If you are always into your throttle opening up those other 2 then the 2brl will help a bit. Basically don't be aggressive with the go peddle, and it will be like you have a 2brl anyway.

I drive like a gentleman grandpaw farmer... *********************... I respect the metal in my precious truck... I haven't spun those tires even once in the two years I've had the truck... It feels like the 4-brl's click-in at 45 mph... Is there a way to make it so the 4 brl's don't click in till 55mph?... What's your opinion on those tv advertised, aluminum fins, airflow shaper, turbo inserts, that you shove into the engine's air-intake?... I'm thinking on making a set for the truck... I was told that occassional popping out of the carb, means that the cam is wearing out, and it's crushing lifters... and when it progresses to three cam knobs, the engine will barely start... Clicking
What the clicking probably is : check the outer brake pad there are two tabs that go around the caliper . Take a screwdriver pry up on the pad between the rotor and pad and bend the tabs down with a hammer .
