'85 to '70 interchange
I know that this has been done before, but I need to ask again.
I have disc brakes (rotors, calipers) from an '85 C10. I want to put them on my '70 C10 without using the custom tie rod adaptor. Can I use the centerlink, inner and outers from the '85? What other parts will I need from the '85. I still plan on using the control arms from the '70 since they are like new. |

If you use the centerlink, tiedod assys, & balljoints from the 85, it should all bolt on. The 85 has a metric steering box, so you may need the pitman arm also. best of luck,69L

That would be the idler arm(bolts on pass side, with 2 bolts?). Im not sure if there is a difference, but its best to pull all the steering link pcs from the same truck......it will save on a lot of confusion trying to match parts.

The later idler arm will bolt right into the earlier truck too. Take it all, side to side, and you won't need to buy any special parts.

yeah I did not have good luck with the special custom tie rod adjusting sleeve. It seems like it is too long to allow for proper alignment.
