I think we'll need an address of some kind eventualy. Anyway that's safe and comfortable (PMs.. whatever) to share that I suppose.
I don't think I can send an orbital sander to a PO box or email address though.. LOL

Could Jodie just send us a pm with her address so we could send tools, money or what ever you want to do to help her?

Hey Jodie, Sorry to hear about all these troubles but it is nice to see that people are still thinking of helping each other. I don't know you in person but since I joined this board not long ago, this board has been like close friend to me. It is very nice to see that everybody trying to help. I have some extra tools too which can mail them to you, also I might be able to help with some $$. I really believe to prevent a chaos and headach for you, making a list or organizing is the best thing. Please let me know how I can help. I bought some used air tools lately (pics should be here on the board) whcih I can send you one. I also have some extra craftsman sockets. Pm me if you like. Stay strong and look ahead. Nima |

Was lookin in my junk room, and I have a craftsman 4 drawer tool box that i am not using....almost good as new.... Jodie will need a place to toss all her tools, so it's headin south.
A note for everyone that may be sending heavy packages, DHL is dirt cheap on this stuff. I just sent a 20 pound tilt column from central ohio to Tenn... 2 to 3 days delivery time, came in just under 7 bucks. (!!!!!) |

Jodie, we need your input on what you need. No sense in a bunch of people sending the same tools. Maybe if we had a list and one of the Mods makes a Sticky post with that list, we could come up with a variety of what you might need. Otherwise, you could end up with fifty 9/16" wrenches and 40 phillips head screwdrivers. I have a batch of spare wrenches that I would be glad to send you, so let's come up with a plan. Maybe someone has a spare digital camera to throw in too, then you will have a way to share pics without having to go borrow one on your day off.

Yall are so kind to me. As far as what I need, I have basically nothing. I have a pair of pliers, channel locks, one each screw driver, and a small set of Walmart or something "will-work-in-a-pinch" sockets. I think thats the majority of it, Oh and I have a 4-1/2 in, angle grinder. As far as my address, I guess i could just PM it to thoes who ask, Im not sure if I want cash sent to me. Id rather things like that go "thru" someone else, I dont want people to wonder "what she done with it". I really dont know what to say. Im so happy at the thought that I dont have to part with my precious burb. Id be more than happy to welcome some one to stop by and see what I "need" and to see the rust on my truck. Just make sure its around supper time, lol.
Thanks again yall!!! take care junk

PM your addy to me Jodie. It might be a few days before I dig through to see what I come up with, but I know I have extra wrenches in a box somewhere in the garage. Probably won't be a full set, but I know I have several that should be a good start for you. I will PM you back before I send them, and post here in case anyone else can fill in the gaps. I'm too far away to make it over for dinner, but I may take a rain check, you never know, LOL! The only thanks I need is just knowing that you are in that Burb! And staying there!

Unless someone is already setting something up for a tool collection I will start a new thread on Sunday the 17TH (tommorrow) entitled "Jodi's Tools". Everyone wanting to donate tools reply in this thread and write down everything you are sending (this way she shd. receive a wide selection of stuff), after writing down what you are sending, PM Jodi for her mailing address. How about making a list of all the things she needs. Then, when you want to send her something on the list, you copy, paste the list into a new post with your name next to the tool or item you are sending???? Then one can pm for the address.

Do we have anyone to organize yet? Mudder, have you talked with Josh & gotten the OK for things yet? Are you going to organize it? I'm 5 days into my second job, and I am afraid that it might make me a little flakey, but if nobody else will step up, I probably can do it.

As far as the board doing this "as a board" Probably not. If we start something like this for one we will have to do it for everyone that has trouble. It would be a nightmare and I'm sure feelings would be hurt. The indivuals in the thread can do this on their own by a new thread and PM's. I'm not even sure I would feel safe giving Jodie's address out to people I don't really know. I really don't have the time here when I am working to do something like this. I have maybe been getting an 1 1/2 hr a day here and the most of that is doing my moderator job. Last edited by Mudder; 07-17-2005 at 12:39 PM. |

Just a thought... I'm willing to bet lots of auto parts stores and the like can accept a card authorization on the phone for gift certificates.

I just went through my spare tools, and I have quite a bit more packed up for her than I thought. If anyone has another spare tote box and can donate it...she'll be needing it.

Hey Jodie,
I'm truly sorry to hear about your situation... but, what can you do? If life throws you lemons, make limeade. Just do what you can. Only look back to learn, never to regret.
