Running out of gas
My sons 71 has started to act like its running out of gas. It seems to run good at idle or low speed. At about 50-60 mph it seems to act like its out of gas. Thought it might be picking up stuff from the bottom of the tank so I pulled the sending unit and there was no sock on the end of the pickup. I installed a new one and the problem didnt go away. The gas tank has probably never been out of the truck so I am not sure how much garbage is at the bottom. It is a 350 with a turbo 350. Stock rebuilt quadrajet and a fairly new fuel pump. Also a clean stock fuel filter in the carb. Looking for suggestions on thing to check.

Change the fuel filter anyway.
Do you have more than one fuel filter? Chang'em both. Remove the fuel line before the fuel pump and blow air back to the tank. Take the top off the carb and see what lives in there. Collapsing fuel line? Fuel line cut on the inside and closes with flow? Just shootin' in the dark!

I Did everything you said above, the sock was missing, changed the filter,
changed the fuel pump, changed some of the fuel lines, it ended up being the tube you just attached the new sock to, it was partially clogged.
