tranny problems
ok guys......i put in this tranny i got from a guy in the newspaper......it was a good deal 200 bucks he got it out of a 72 elky...he seemed like a nice guy he said it was working before he took it out he rebuildthese elkys so he didn't need it because he had like 5 more anyways....i get it home...i hurried up and put it in.....i hook up the flywheel to the converter.....i can't remember how many clicks i put it in though......it s a th350...now when i go to put it in gear it DOES NOTHING!!! it has park and thats it...what could it be....cable for the floor shifter....torque coverter not all the way in?please don't tell me i threw my money out HELP PLEASE

Hmmmmm,
1 check fluid. 2 listen for tranny click as you swing through the gears. (engine off) 3 check fluid pressure. Disconnect tranny cooler line and have wife start it for 2 seconds, should have a nice puddle a few feet away from the open line. 4. Look for rebuild shop. ------------------ '69 G.M.C. 350/350. Trying to clean up the left over damage from the Dope-Smokin-Old-Man I've been dubbed the Longhorn Freak/Fanatic/Expert, I just hope I can live up to it. It's probably the fluid. When I first got my '72, it would start and run, but for the life of me I couldn't make it MOVE! I felt really stupid when I pulled the dipstick out..
