72 longhorn in the paper
I saw a 72 longhorn in the paper for $800. What should I look for on these pickups besides the longer bed. I plan on calling about it tomorrow and see what the guy has to say about it. it was under the "rebuildable" section of the classifieds.

Well, the best way to tell if you're dealing with a Longhorn, is by the model number. For the 3/4 ton, a six cylinder will be a CS21034, while the V-8 trucks should be CE21034. If you're dealing with a one ton truck, the six cylinder will be CS31034, and CE31034 for the V-8 trucks. This number can be found in the glovebox on the sticker.
For condition, the only thing to look for that would differ from any other 67 - 72 is looking at the rear springs, the leaf springs are known for having one or 2 cracked leafs in the pack. Pictures would be pretty cool. |

3/4 ton production #s came out to 3328, while only 2450 one tons were made.
No 4X4 Longhorns were ever sold by/for G.M. (not officially anyways) |
