door panel help

i have some blue plastic door panels and want to clean them up, can i paint them?? if so what kinda paint should i use or how else would you do it, there out of an 83 and are faded and scratced badly and need a new look.

Scuff them down with some light sandpaper and wash them good then get some vht vinyl spray dye about 6.00 a can and spray them.

i think you need to use spray adhesive first to get the vinly paint to adhere well

I use PPG RTS (ready to spray) paint and their matt finish clear to spray over it. helps with scratches I've used adhesion promotors and not used them also kinda hard to tell if it PROMOTES or not cause i never had it come off either way. Like any thing else it has to be clean. I clean it with dx330 and scrub brush then wash them off with water and let em dry before i spray em. Not that you asked but on panels that you want to leave the same color and just clean them up I bought some pergo type flooring restoring finish at home depot for around 30.00 and it made some old panels i had look real nice.
