Turbo 350 to NP241

I was wondering if anyone knows what is needed to be done to the tranny to bolt the NP 241 to it? I am removing the 203 and the guy I bought the 241 from said to use a 2-wheel drive shaft and cut 7/8" one time and 1&7/8" the next. Anyone ever do this before? Thanks.
