I can probably help you out as i converted my 79 to a manual setup last wednesday. She's my rockcrawler and doesn't need the power stuff.
When i get off this job i can call you with my diagrams in front of and all the parts still on the floor. To get the rear lock/switch assm out you must remove the access cover on the tailgate then remove the regulator to access the two 7/16 nuts. Also the window has to be out so just jumper the two blue wires at the deadman switch located on the drivers side tailgate catch....so you can roll the window out....you might have to unplug the round connector behind the bumper and use some jumper wires to manually provide power to the motor....the orange wire is your constant hot... Email me at k5nutt@hotmail.com....if all goes well we'll be done thursday drilling this hole...then poss sat if you want i'll call you and walk you thru it...plus i could take pics of the parts since they are under the workbench....
