Say It Isn't So
Well, here goes...I'm asking for input guys.
I'm thinking about selling my 71 CSt 4x4 blazer, yeah the green one in my avatar. so am I nuts? I really need a pickup and after all my efforts otherwise, this is the last option available, raise the cash by selling the queen of the fleet. To top thing's off, I've found one that would suite my needs to the tee but of course they need/want cash. Go ahead and say what's on your mind...I'm ready. |

You gota do what you gota do~~~I recently sold my 72 LWB Cheyenne Super with 5speed, new crate, etc. etc. Bottom line is that I needed a better ride. I bought a 2000 Ext Cab Silverado Z71. Haven't regretted it yet.
I would look at and consider what you need then make the decision. I sold a 97 Vette a few years back not because I didn't like it but because I rarely used it and it was just taking up space and tieing up $$ that I could have fun with. The green blazer might be the wrong thing to sell but---keep what you really like and get ride of the rest till you have what you need. IF you could just keep one vehicle or one thing, what would that be?? The rest is replaceable. If you died tomorrow, what would you leave your family with to get ride of~~~~. Keep your favorite which ever that is and get ride of what you need till you have the $$ to get what you want. Basically simple but always difficult! (:>) |

Sell some of your other stuff, you blazer is what really really made me want a 71-72. Even if you only got 4-5k, for say two of you others(prolly way off but just go along) That'll buy you a really nice little pick up. What do you need the pickup for?

Well, when do you expect the others to be complete? Will they be as nice as the green one? Why not get a utility trailer to pull behind you blazer(s)?

I agree with meat head don't do it. That is the nicest blazer I have ever seen. It's just perfect. Don't sell it. no one will treat it right, but you because you have all you time and hard work in it.

Momentary lapse guys...sorry.
I'll be keeping the blazer. The truck I need is for work. A trailer could work but a pickup would be better for my needs. Best case for me right now would be to trade my C/30 flatbed for a 4x4 truck. As always, thanks all. Nothing like a brotherhood to watch your back. |

don't sell it. YOU will regret it. Think back, ever sell another vehicle you regret getting rid of? You were probably younger and naive.
Don't be naive now.

Hey Kurt -
Against my wife's wishes, I'll offer my 72 Sierra Grande. It's a 3/4 ton, 4wd, lwb, 350/350/205, tilt, A/C, (had a tach and AM/FM, but they're gone ) sliding rear window, cab lights, 4.10 posi, 4"lift. It's complete, but I just dropped in the motor and don't have it hooked up. It needs cab corners, rockers, and a lower RF fender. I really don't want to get rid of it, but what I REALLY want is a solid Blazer. I'd also like a short fleet 4wd. I know I'm half a continent away, but I'd thought I'd give you the option. Paul

Hey VT, I miss mine terrible, but, the 1994 1500 with v-6 and 5 speed is nice right now. No way I could still be riding mine. By next year I intend to have another blazer but 4.3, tbi, and 700r4. DOn't sell right now as you will loose your tail. FWIW, moodyholler

Hey vt I have looked at selling my blazer time after time and always come back to the samething its mine and no one else will treat it like i do it's not the nicest blazer but its mine and finding another one is getting harder and harder to do these days... These vintage trucks area dime a dozen and it should not be too hard to find one in decent shape ...
