Will new Chevrolet 8-bolt rims fit on a 72 3/4 ton

I want to put a 1/2" wheel spacer between the drum and the rim. That will widen out the track a bit and have the wheel closer to the outer edge of the bedside. Narrow track = lil' red wagon look. Might could put some beefy tires on it to make it look better but my tires are brand new and can not justify gettin rid of em over looks. Pretty sure the spacer would eleminate cutting out the center cap too. As said earlier I just double lugged the tires and avoided cutting my center cap.

So as spacers, you used double lugs?

I was just about to ask where I could buy 1/2' spacers for them.

Honestly, I never knew they could be bought, but if you are using doulbe lugs, it sounds like it achieves the same thing.

So do you first mount a lug backwards and thread it all the way in, so the 60 degree chamfer contacts the rim,

then put the rim on,

then but the outer lugs on?

am I getting this right?

I beleive what chickenwing does is use double lugs on stud to get cap out away from wheel hub. I would like to see pics of how this looks and is done.

Wheel spacer would go between wheel and brake drum to widen the wheel track as the offset on this wheels is more inboard than stock.

So to recap, wheel spacer widens stance and double lugs allow caps to be bolted on without cutting center of cap.

double lugs act as a spacer for the cap, but wont that make a gap between the outer edge of the cap and the wheel?

special "outer thread" lugs which black plastic cap nuts thread on to - same website $1.29 ea.

Are those competitive prices or can they be gotten locally for less?

Got my lugs off ebay slightly cheaper. Make sure to watch shipping costs. I also believe local tire shops should have them/get them. Went to 1 local Les Schwab tire and got the "deer in teh headlights stare" and no not made!! A few lonely evening minutes on ebay and they were mine.

Uhmm... Those spacers are 7/32", a fuzz over a 1/4". Yes, the double lugs do leave a space but you cant see it till you are right up on it. Does not look bad IMO. If you do find a 1/2" 8 lug spacer, post where it is please. Anyone think doubleing up the 7/32" spacer would be a bad idea?
