a buddy of mine bought a 67 gmc with only 63 original miles. he bought the truck for the cab and front clip, but it has a huge 350 cid v-6 motor with a th400, and it runs great. he wants to sell the rest but has know idea what to ask for it. its all complete, motor , trans and rolling frame and all. anybody know what the v6 is worth?........thanks, Rat......

There was no 350, just a 305 and 351. The 351 is very hard to find, , they were both awsome engines, but unfortunantly, no one is willing to pay much for either one.

yah, thats it a 351. tis very touqey, and the trans shifts almost to hard........he wants to sell them cheap, to whoever is interested. thanks for your reply , Rat.........

They don't have alot of resale value because they are very hard to find parts for. They are only worth anything to someone who already has one. Is it a long wheel base? and what kind of rear end does it have? the worth of that setup will really rely on the th400 and the rearend. Don't expect a mint for the motor. And please tell me that truck has 63,000 miles on it not 63! well I guess that could 100063 also...

lol, yes 63,000...its a long fleet with a 12 bolt rear, dont now about posi or gear size. yah dirt dobber, is very rare, ive never seen one like it before. its huge for its size.......thanks,........Rat

I sold my 351 about six years ago to a heavy truck salvage yard for $75.00. These engines typically were used in larger GMC trucks and old fork lifts, I am told. I tried for over a year advertising my engine to try and get more out of it, but no luck. I don't think the 305/351's are practical for a 1/2 or 3/4 T compared to what available now. In their day, however,
they were quite the engine.

I bought a 305V6 from slammed67 for $250. The motor had less than 20k miles and had the power steering setup including the pump I needed. It also had the bell housing and a 3sp transmission. Maybe I paid too much, but it does not need rebuilding. I am putting the truck back to original and the motor number is correct. I saw one sell on eBay for $100.

The engine that you bought from slammer67 is a very very good engine with low miles, you did not pay to much for it. I wish I would have bought it now just to have.

Maybe they are losing value, but I sold a '64 305 V-6 with about 89,000 miles on it in 1982 for $300 and the man was glad to have it.

Well, back in 82 they were still common. That was just as the deisels were getting turbos on them and becoming the truck motor of choice.

I had a 61 305 with 70,000 miles on it that ran excellent,I coudn't give it away.Finally dumped it in the junkyard scrap pile ! They were used in some forklifts .
