New Guy In Illinois
Just wanted to tell everyone Hello, and give a little history on myself. I've been around old cars and trucks since I was 6 years old (In 1969 when one of my older bros. bought his 57 Belair). Currently, I have 2 trucks and 5 cars. My trucks are a 55 Chevy Cameo, and a 59 GMC stepside. The Cameo had been totalled in 1996 . Fortunately, it was hit in the left front, so none of the Cameo parts were damaged. So far, I've had the frame straightened, and rebuilt the brakes and suspension. I've also found a very solid cab and doors, although it's a small back window (so that will have to be changed). The GMC was originally purchased as a parts truck for the Cameo, but it was so solid that I didn't want to use it for parts. The Cameo has always been in Illinois, so it was very rusty. The GMC came from Dalhart Texas, and future plans for it are a 4 wheel drive conversion. As far as my cars, I have a 55 Chevy 210 2dr. sed. (my first car that I bought in 1977), a rough 56 Belair 2dr.sed (sold new in Alaska, and went through the Alaskan earthquake of 1964), a rough 57 Belair 4dr.sed. (owned since 1985), a 59 Belair 2dr. sed. (driven everyday, all year around), and a 60 Impala 4dr. ht. (the newest car that I own). I'm also into traditional hot rods and customs.
I look forward to learning from all the experience and knowledge on this board. Thanks, John |

Welcome to the board from South MIssissippi! Sounds like you may be able to teach us a few things. If you have some good info feel free to post some on the FAQ page, we don't have a lot of posts about your model years there.
