whats the difference
between lower control arms from a 68 1/2 ton 2wd and a 71 1/2 ton 2wd? can i use 68 steering componets and not run into any problems?

There might be other things different, but I believe just the ball joints are different.......

yup
yup just ball joints. but i think you have to change outer tie rod ends to run the different spindles. not sure.though i know every thing will bolt up cause i have this stuff on mine but i have not tried to have it alined yet

i thought the steering stops were different as well, i may be wrong

68 shortstep if you are going to do all of that you may as well go to a junkyard and strip all of the suspension off a 87 truck or suburban. That is what I did with my 72 2wd Blazer. Now I have all of the new style control arm shafts with urethane bushings instead of those squeaky steel shafts in the old suspension. Take all of it, center link, tierods and everything. There are so many of them that they are cheap. Just my two cents.
