Help - Which brand tire should I buy?
After reading what seems to be a zillion tire reviews on Tirerack.com I have narrowed my choice down to the following 4 tires. It's a 4 way tie!
I need your advice on which ones I should go for , maybe you have them on your truck or know someone who does. This is for a 1979 Jimmy 2wd. I am staying with 15" X 8 rims Yokohama Avid S/T Firestone Indy 500 Bridgestone H/L ALenza Yokohama H/T S-G051 They all rate well and I don't really want to let price determine my choice. They will only be used in dry and wet conditions.( no snow where I live) The first 2 are more a car/suv tire whereas the second 2 are suv/truck. I will be driving tarseal roads , mainly highway. I need good handling tires. NEXT QUESTION. I am going either 235 or 255 - your opinions on which one and why or should I go 275 at the back - will it make a handling difference? Thanks guys, in advance , hope I don't have to pick one out of a hat to decide! Clive |

I would go with the Firestone Indys they are great tires I have a set on my daughters TBird and they handle great in about all conditions. I have always liked Firestones tires..
I think Id go with the 275 at the rear to give it an awesome stance from the rear and also puts more rubber against the road for better traction and handling etc. Just my 2 cents worth lol Doc
