I don't see why just replacing the cam would mess anything up in the turn signal switch.

If you short out the white wire to either the green wire or the yellow wire on the half-moon connector, one brake light at a time should come on. That will tell you if everything other than your turn signal switch is working.

I had the exact problem with the same items not working but I found I wasn't getting power to the brake switch - as soon as I put power to it, everything worked. I agree your problem has to be above the connectors on the steering column harness. I feel for you, this electical stuff can be quite a nightmare!

No those green wires don't go to the plug to the firewall. All 4 wires(yellow, white, light green, and dark green) are all there at that plug.

Here are a couple more guesses for those green wires.
1) Maybe they pop into the square black connector that is on the firewall behind the fuse panel. The schematics show circuit 11 as having two green wires coming out of one row up from the bottom left corner of that square connector panel. One wire (11A) goes to the headlamp dimmer switch and the other (11B) goes to the gauge panel for the high beam lamp, I'm assuming. 2) Maybe they plug into the ignition switch on terminal 35 (temperature gauge), which is on the top end of the plug, right next to a tan wire. |

Well, my dimmer switch works-it's brand new. Put it in this morning. I have an original 3 gauge cluster so I don't have a temp gauge. I'll check it out.

Turn hazard switch
Sorry I haven't followed your problem to know what all you have checked but it sounds like power in to turn/hazard switch but not back out? If that is the case, try turning the hazards on and off a bunch of times. The contacts get bad from not being used much. Many times at work when I check hazards, the brake lights quit working and I have to 'work' the contacts until clean. Conceivable that body shop may have done that also. I'm sorry if I'm covering old news but I thought I needed to put in my 2 cents.

I'm going to replace the switch and see if that gets me my lights back. But if anybody can help with the IDENTIFICATION of those wires it would be appreciated.

I had the same problem and it was in the half moon connector. I cheked everything the steering column, fuse block battery connections but I took the half moon apart cleaned up the connections and everything worked fine. There was some over spray on the connections. The plug I am talking about is the one with a gazillion wires to it that connects to the steering column.

Okay, got the new turn signal switch in and the brake lights work YIPPEE!!!!!!
Of course one problem fixed, but another one arises. No turn signals. When I turn the signals on the that particular light just goes out. I got a new flasher and the hazards work so I know that's not it. I have those LED bulbs in there and I'll probably throw a 1157 in there and see if maybe that's the problem. Maybe the LED's don't have that particular element in the bulb. And one of the instrument panel bulbs came on I'm not sure what the deal with the other ones are, but at least one came on so I have something to go on. STILL LIKE SOME ID ON THOSE OTHER WIRES IN THE PICS!

I had a similar problem
My drivers side brake and turn were not working but the other side was. This thread inspired me to get in gear and figure out my problem.
I knew that the turn signal was removed with brute force by the P.O. It is broken in many places but still kind of functioned. I had power to the white wire when the brakes were applied. If I checked the dark green (pass side brake and turn wire) I had power there with the brakes applied. The yellow (drivers side brake and turn wire) never had power with the brakes on or not. To test if it was a missing connection of the yellow wire in the turn signal switch I made a jumper between the white power and yellow (to the drivers side brake and turn). My brake and turn signal now work on that side. I will be ordering a turn signal switch and removing the jumper wire. |

You tried replacing the flasher for the turn signals? There should be two flashers in there.

I took a flashlight and looked all around under my dash. I couldn't find any green wires anywhere like those that are dangling under yours. I'm at a loss. Sorry. Maybe you can try tracing them into your wiring harness to see where they go on the other ends of the wires.
