Chew on this.......
I was thinking about something krue keeps asking about (FAQ write up's) and also Josh's need to generate funds for this message board with donations subscriptions. One thing I thought may work and could be very useful is the use of the "search" function. Well, would it be possible to enable say a paying contributor or subscriber to use the search along with some other areas like maybe the parts board or technical "how to's" or the FAQ's threads???
One thing I would like to do is make a hidden hitch, like the one in a past thread, http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s....php3?t=174123 sell it on the board and donate the money to Josh for expenses on this website. Good idea....or no ??? FEEDBACK PLEASE.......... |

It's a great gesture. Money is very helpful, as the server needs to be able to handle the load that searching through all these posts puts on it.
Pruning out some of the chaff would also help. |

It is a great idea, BUT (don't you just hate those big but's?) in the US today there is a lazy a$$ person looking to strike it rich off of your hard work. One accident and they will own your house and you will continue to pay for it. The owner of a small farm type welding shop told me he couldn't build a hitch because his liability insurance ran $150 per hitch. He was only doing 15 to 24 hitches a year at the time. I'm sure a larger volume would bring it down some.

I also have this darn glovebox door to finish up with all proceeds being donated back to the forum. Been so busy at work and with this move that I haven't had time to get it done. It's in the paint booth just waiting for some insipration on what to paint on it , to come to me

Bird feeder receiver stand? It just happens to also fit a 67-72 Chevy/GMC truck.

I am for this though I am surprised. This similar idea was discussed at the sametime when many members jumped on the band wagon to help GMC with her losses. Both good ideas. The difference is some of the senior members shot the Board donation idea down.
Here is how I see it. Members have skills, equipment, parts, and money though usually not all of them. This can be made easy on everyone. We set up a post to raise funds by donations and sales. Say Donator put an intake manifold for sale for $50 and it cost them $12 to ship it. A member buys the part and sends the money to Josh. Then Josh will reimburse Donator for the shipping. This way Josh get funds, Donator is not out anything but the part, and the buyer gets it at a reasonable price. If Donator wants to donate the shipping costs they would let Josh know that. There is time and effort involved but there is a price to be paid for good. Thats my $.02 Tim

ummmmm.......you mean a bird feeder receiver stand??? I would say the used one I have here converted like the one pictured above would probably worth in the $80 range. of course that would be just the bolt on part. You would need the insert, ball, and flip down plate holder.
But the important thing would be a way to get the search function available again. |

oh! I have a SM435 (I thinks that's what it is from my 68 C15), a saginaw 3speed, a cast iron bell housing, an aluminum bell housing, all needed clutch linkage & pedal from Lefty, 2 sets of 67-72 hood hinges, 2 sets of 73-87 upper & lower A arms, and a complete 700R4 in pieces with a full kit & new converter. oops, forget that last one, it belongs to someone else

Tim thats a cool idea imho BUT it would cause more stuff for Josh to keep track of at this point, when he does not have the time to do so. Why not just have a post where ya'll do it on your own or such, kinda like drink did a while back. Sell the items you wish, have the buyer send you the money (paypal easiest) then just deduct out shipping and donate what you wish to in the buyers name or such. |
