truck not wanting to start
I purchased a 71 chevy short fleet and it has a 327 engine. I've been having this problem with it after cruising around and I turn it off, it won't start. All my lights still work but not even a click when I turn the key. After turning the key for a couple minutes it'll start. This went on for about 7 months and now it won't start at all. I changed the ignition switch and I took off the starter and had it checked but its good. Before I had it towed home the wrecker driver tried to jump it from the solenoid and it didn't turn over but it sparked. And also my hot wire to the ignition also has spark. I need some help please anyone I have a buyer but not until it runs.

Starter solenoid's getting hot.
Replace it and add a shield or go with a remote solenoid ala Furd. There are directions on how to do it. |
