How much for stock buckets?

Doh.. That really sucks... Whats the best practice to prevent rust?.

Should i sand eveything in/out and prime it..?? Any ideas?

Primer absorbs water...so if you prime, you must also paint.

I personally would clean the area well, paint it, and then use a dab of clear silicon between the washer and the underside of the floor to seal it the best I could.

what a pain.. ok .. so i have to clean it.. prime it... paint it.. silicon it.. and it should be ok?.. Would you suggest not bolting it and welding it in place instead?..

Bolt it...you might want to remove them easily some day.


You don't NEED to prime/paint...as long as the bare metal is treated/protected somehow..you should be fine.

I am anal...so I always do it the hard way.

I would love to do it the hard way.. I just dont have a shop or any tools to do it that way..

I will have to see how the metal looks and just make sure i seal it good..

Ok.. I did it.. The new seats are installed.. It was actually not that bad of a job.. Downloading my pics off my camera right now and will post them in a couple minutes.. You guys are going to love my make-shift brackets.. lol

The front and rear bolts on the driver-side seat mount to the original stock bolt holes...

(front-outer-driverside bolt)


Marked and drilled a whole in the inner-rear-driverside..


Once the other 3 bolts were in i could see what needed to be done with the bracket..


Here is the make-shift bracket.. little measuring went into this.. it was pretty much just trial and error as i went..


Here it is all bolted up..


Thats the driver-side done..

The passanger side was a little bit funner, as only the outer-front stock bolt matched up.. I had to drill the rest out..


As you can see the mounts on the back of the passenger seat are all bent outa-shape..


Set the passanger in place.. one bolt in .. looking good so far


I made another bracket the same as the driverside.. they are pretty much identicle.. drilled and bolted everything up..

Here is the finished product..





Well there it is.. all done..

the only damage i did to the carpet was a few small holes for the bolts to go in.


All in all i am very happy with the install.. I still need to vaccume and stuff.. as you can see..

Also.. My 6x9's I had behind my bench seat no longer fit ..
I just got them not too long ago..

Looks great, glad the install went well. Now you need to do something with that subwoofer and enclosure...sticks out like a sore thumb.

I think they look great. Won't the 6x9's fit in the cab corners with the factory brackets flipped over?

nope.. I tried every way i could think of.. no luck..

Im going to leave the sub there for now.. I plan on replacing the center console this spring with a custom built one.. at that time i am going to integrate the sub and amp into the console.. It will go all the way to the dash i think and wrap around my B&M shifter..
