I've got the Spal 38lb. It works fine. A little tricky to mount. N2TRUX may know how the autoloc brand mounts but I don't. Found mine on ebay for $90 shipped without the door poppers. Doors open MOST of the time without the poppers but will probably add them pretty soon.

On full-size doors, guys recommend the 75 lb units, but I'm not sure on these doors. Maybe, 50 lb solenoids would work better than the 35 lb units. What do you think, Static22?

Don Cain of KC Streetrods has quite a bit of experience throughout the years with the different solenoids. His recommendation to me, when I was looking for solenoids, was to stay away from the Oriental quality ones and be sure to get ones that have a good pull to them. For a bigger setup, he recommended a 50 lb pull over the 35 lb units. To connect with Don, try ( www.kcstreetrod.com ).

Like I said the ones I installed are rated at 38lbs. I do have power doors as well which adds some weight and so far no problems. Granted they have only been in for a few months and my truck is not a daily driver.

I spoke with several guys at an NSRA show here in OKC and most of them said the 35lb should work fine. A few recommended the 50lb but that was all they had to sell as well.

Some other guys here may have more history with these than I do.

Thanks for all of your responses, I ordered 50 lb kit from autoloc that I found on ebay ($80). Can't beat the price and its a complete kit too.

Thanks again, Chad

Is it a full remote setup? That sounds pretty cheap if it is. Some other guys may want to take advantage of the pricing since they usually have more than one available.

I have a 35lb autoloc brand new solenoid for sale if your interested., Cheaper than you can buy it.

They worked fine on my truck for 5+ years. Not one failure.
