Ignition switch problem

I can't turn my switch!I went out to start the truck, stuck the key in,and can only get the switch to turn to the run position, but not to start.I can't get the tumbler to come out.It will not turn to acc. This is a GM set,not from a parts store.

That is a bummer!

Try jiggling the key while turning it. If that does not help spray some penetrant into the tumblers and try again. Some times the penetrant makes it worse, sometimes it helps.

If that does not help to turn the key then it is either drill it out or get a locksmith.

If you do get it to turn , I would suggest replacing the lock cylinder.

Good luck,

Jim
