My driver side door opens up so far that its hitting the front left fender. What is the fix?

There's supposed to be a "stopper bar thingy" (yes, that's a technical term) on the top door hinge, take a peek at your passenger side door. You may need to replace your door hinge, as I'm not sure if you can buy the "stopper bar thingy" seperatley

You have to replace the hinge, the stop is integral.

You can actually replace the hinge stop without removing the hinge. If you have an old hinge with a good stop and you can fit your hand inside the door, you can:
1. drive out the roll pin 2. remove the metal stop piece from inside the door and 3. remove the little hard vinyl like pads. ![]() Install in the reverse order. I replaced both of mine in this way. Hope this helps. Last edited by demi; 10-06-2005 at 05:05 PM. |

That is a great "how to" demi. I need to do this because my doors don't stay open when a park on even the slightest upgrade.
This post should go in the FAQ section.
