72 Front Disc Brake hoses?

Can someone post a pic of the correct flexible hoses that run from the caliper to the control arm of a 1972 2wd Chevy Pickup

I have two that were included when I bought my chassis, but they don't seem right.

Thanks!

They don't run to the control arm on a 72. That's on 73-87 that they bolt to the upper control arm.

On a 72, they go directly from the caliper banjo bolt to the tabs on the front side of the crossmember. The 72 hoses are much shorter than 73 and newer hoses too.

My mistake, the tab is on the front of the crossmember, outside of the frame rail. When I posted I pictured it on the upper arm for some reason.

Anyone have a pic of the proper hose?

I'm curious to see this too, I've only seen crossmembers with the brake hose mount towards the rear of the crossmember (my 67 and 70 are like this)

Interesting -- if I am looking at your passenger side with the tab in the front - mine is in the rear. 72 spindles on a 67 C10.

Re: 72 Front Disc Brake hoses?

I might be mistaken but the 71-72 disc brake hoses ran to the front of the crossmembers while the drum 67-70 to the rear of the crossmember.
But dont quote me on this.

Re: 72 Front Disc Brake hoses?

You are probably correct as my 6 lug rotors and calipers with hoses came from McNaughy's. and I just did not know the difference. But my spindles are 72.

That is how they run on my '72 chassis, to the front of the crossmemeber.
I'll take the hoses I have to the parts store this week and match them up with what they have in stock.

That is correct, the hoses go to the rear of the crossmember on factory drum brake trucks and to the front of the crossmember on factory disc brake trucks.

Exactly. I just cut the tabs off the rear of my '69 and will attach them to the front to finish the '72 disc conversion. iI was going nuts trying to figure out why the brake line kit went the wrong way until another member straightened me out.

Re: 72 Front Disc Brake hoses?

Early Classic sells the little brake hose tabs that bolt on where ever you want them to. I used them when converting these trucks to disc brakes.
