When I get a HEI distrobuter do I want a mechanical advance unite or a vacuum advance unit? What all is the difference between the two?

The HEI that you want has both vacuum and mechanical advance. The ones for computer controlled vehicles do not have the vacuum advance.

You want both unless your using as race only. The dizzys that are advertised with vacuum advance also have the mechanical.
