Anyone with straight pipes?

Just wondering how they perform/sound. I'm STILL debating what kind of exhaust to get and straight pipes with a cross pipe came to mind for a second. Just wanted to know the pros and cons.

They're quiet.

No...they sound great...not as good as open headers, but they sound good. If it's on a daily driver, you'll get tired of them being so loud. And on the highway, they kill your ears.

I've got turbos with straight pipes (2 1/2"). They sound great if you're behind the truck, but most of the sound is lost to me with that LWB. That's the only thing that sucks. I know they sound cool to others but I can't hear them.

not exactly straight but when theey are uncapped it is unbelieveably loud.. At school i would have kids come by me in the morning and rev their mustangs liek they were all badass and loud. So later that afternoon when school got out i would have the dumps uncapped. those little 4.6's haha

I had a 69 chevelle with headers and straight pipe and it sounded great! It had really quiet mufflers on it and one day I got pissed off with them and had the muffler shop take them out and replace them with pipe. I drove it for two years and got stopped all the time, but not for the sound.hehe. I sold the car and the new owner got pulled over within a month and was told to put nufflers back on. But they do sound really nice!
