Horrible.

Do you want empty or fully loaded? My buddy's Desktop Dyno 2000 says it's about 60/40 empty.

Makes me think. GM says my truck's curb weight is 4418lbs. Bull. Call it 4500lbs so the math is easy. That's 2700lbs front, 1800lbs rear. GVW is 7500lbs. GM says 96% of the payload is on the rear, 4% on the front. 3000lbs of payload distributes to 2880lbs rear, 120lbs front (not good). So loaded my truck is 2820lbs front, 4680lbs rear. 38/62 loaded. Wonderful. That would explain the lack of steering & braking when my truck is overloaded (duh!).

To think it took me 15 minutes to post this. Why? Because I couldn't find the calculator on my desk. Only after I finished the math do I realize the COMPUTER has a calculator. Must be hungry. Hungry = lack of common sense.

SWB rear axles are closer to the cab, moving the center of gravity further forward. That means the rear axle will share a higher portion of the cab's weight.

Or, if you will, picture the COG as the point where the pickup would balance if high-cenetered. That point would be moved forward on a SWB pickup. That means that there would be more weight behind that point on a SWB pickup.
