CA license Plate restore...colors?
Does anyone know the right paint colors to restore the old black CA plates?
The yellow is what I'm after, since the black will be flat(?). I plan on media blasting the plates and redoing. Also, I guess the letter/numbers will have to be hand painted, but is there a "best" way to do this? I want it to be smooth thanks

Dunno what yellow it is, but it's not flat black - semi-gloss at least.

I had the guy at my paint store make some up for me. He started with Sign Painters 1 Shot (Lemon Yellow, 132-L). And Stocker is right on about them semi gloss.
