Bronx -57 GMC project

Here are some pictures of my project.
Its a 1 ton -57 GMC longbed stepside.
The truck was sold new in Norway in-59 and was in daily use till-79.
The truck was then sold to a guy that picked it apart for restauration,but he never started the rebuild. I bought the truck in bits and pieces In September.

Yee Haw! I love those old GMCs, I have a 59 in close to the same condition. Lots O parts! What are your plans, are you going stock? There is a nice thread in the 55-59 area this guy is doing a full on frame up on his 58 GMC. If you haven't already check it out. Hello Jebb1978. First of all i am gonna sandblast everything and weld some rust in the lower sections of the cabin. Havent decided what driveline i should use yet,but the stock axles and inline six will be replaced.
My first plan was to convert it to 4x4 by using suburban driveline,but now i cant decide if i should go low instead.
Here are some more pics of the project. P.S. Can anyone tell me what truck that frontfender comes from?

They appear to be correct to me??? Check out this pic. It is a 1957 GMC.

It looks like you have been busy since your last update, nice work! Don't get too busy working on it to update us with your progress every now and again. I personally would rather lower them than lift them but that is just my opinion, they get lots of attention either way. Mine has a Camaro subframe and sits low, nice upgrade. Power brakes, power steering, handles much better than stock or it did before I tore it apart.... Good luck with it, it is looking nice, I will keep checking in for new pics. I suggest posting on the 55-59 area as you may get a lot more responses.
