speedometer problem
I put a 98 vortec 350 w/a 4l60e trans in my 72swb & 72 sub. I was wondering if anyone knew of a electric speedometer that would work in my 2 trucks.

I would think any one of them would work. I'm putting an '02 LS1 in mine and nobody has said anything about needing a special one. I was just told to go out and get an Autometer digital gauge or get a gauge that will automatically calculate the speed (I forget how it works)

electronic speedo
Here is something to consider. Here is a website that shows how to convert back to cable driven speedometers. In either case you would have to do some calculations to determine the correct gear drive or electronic calibration.

Cable X Box
I have an LT1 with 4L60E. I put a Cable X Box in there. Still have not got it right. The Box takes the pulses from the tranny, then runs a mechanical servo to show deflection on your original speedometer. I can get it to show deflection in the calibrate mode but not from the transmission. And Cable X has been no help. they told me if it calibrates it is fine. I have even went so far as to change the sensor on the yoke of the tranny. Fifty-two dollars more and still no worky. Kerry

Re: speedometer problem
I remember me and Shane talking about this one night. He would like to find something that is a factory chevy speedo. So it would like good in the stock style gauge cluster.
