Mr. Wiggins 69
Auction for this truck is Saturday, October 15-10 AM. Only one pic on the site, any board members have more pics of this truck?
Per the site: The CST on the Chevrolet trucks stood for Custom Sport Truck and was available for the 2nd time in 1969. They were the top of the line pickups and were equipped similarly to cars with fancy trim and accessories. This long bed truck sports an amazing 18,000 original miles. It was purchased by Mr. Wiggins from an estate in Beecher, IL. The fantastic option list includes a 396 V-8 with automatic transmission, posi-traction rear, power steering, power brakes, air conditioning, and bucket seats with console. http://www.kruseinternational.com/au...ns05/index.asp

Mr.Wiggins had a nice truck!(or two)I`m a C/20 fan, too. There must have been body work done on that 18,000 mile truck to mount those 71-72 mirrors and fill the original holes. The 71/72 bumper guards are an easier upgrade.

How do you know it is a CST/20? Beautiful truck. Bet it went high or will go high. Not sure when the auction is. Must be nice to have that kind of money like Mr. Wiggins and be able to buy all the cars and trucks you want.

$15 for entrance fee, $100 for buyer registration, and 10% buyer premium? I guess it's going to the lifestyles of the rich and famous.

Re: Mr. Wiggins 69
Thought I would bring this one back up and let everyone know the final bid, and that your truck may be worth more than you think.
The quote that was used for most of the auction was "It is only original once, and would be worth more than a restored in the same condition." Also stated was that if one was found in better condition he would buy it and sale the one he had. Only got one shot of the option label due to having to ask someone to open the doors to get a look. I'm not one to normally pick a truck a part, but this one was for sale, and was reported to have 18,000 miles. Some things made me think that was true and others made me think 118,000. A few of the things I noticed that I did not get pictures of were the lack on welds where the bed sides meet the bed floor by the tailgate, and striped screw heads on the front of the bed sides to the front bed panel. Windshield gasket was not seated and look like it had a build up of some sort under it. Also seen grinder marks under the paint in places along with a one or two small dents in the top of the cab. A few of the things you can see in the pictures are the clamps on the AC hoses and the mods to the breather, that to me would not be a full restore or things you would not see on a 18,000 mile truck. OK now what you been waiting for this truck sold for $38,000. (+10% buyers Prem.) to a buyer from VA. Also need to consider that all of the cars\trucks in the auction were sold with a picture on a screen. None of the cars were cranked or moved for the auction, and were sold were is as is.

Re: Mr. Wiggins 69
Got one more that I resized and a few of the red truck that was for sale on the side of the road near the auction. Just for reference the red truck was priced at $45,000 and was not there after the auction but the trailer that it was in was, so I think it sold.

Re: Mr. Wiggins 69
I saw that red truck at the Owensboro, KY show back on July 1-3. The owner is from Murfreesboro, TN. He had it for sale that day and I believe he told me he wanted $50K for it. Very nice truck.

Re: Mr. Wiggins 69
Grinder marks, the crappy/quicky repaint of the frame, and it still sold for
$38K? I am of the belief that if you are asking top dollar for anything, that will kind of weed out the tire kickers from the serious buyers right off the bat. Then if you have a serious/qualified buyer who knows what he's talking about and you make all these unfounded or outright false claims about your vehicle, that will immediately make the serious guy just walk away. Look on ebay and read the ads for old cars and trucks..I saw one the other day, and it said, "90% original." Then the owner explains in the next 2 paragraphs about how he changed the interior, replaced motor, added disc brakes...... I don't get it.

Re: Mr. Wiggins 69
Serious buyers don`t always know what they`re doing.Ever heard the term,"more money than sense"?That looked like a fine truck.Restored or original,an "educated" buyer would have stopped at $25K (if not sooner). You could build a truck like that for less than $41,800.Ya think?
