tach wiring

just finished home done dash conversion need to know how to hook up wires thanks dave

I assume that it is a factory tach with the factory harness, (two wires one pink and one brown).

The brown wire goes to the negative side of the the coil, (if you have points) otherwise if HEI it hooks to the "Tach" terminal on the distributor cap.

The pink wire goes to the fuse panel and plugs into the "Ignition Unfused" location.

If you don't have a harness use #14 wire and hook up to the "coil" terminal on the back of the tach and run it as the brown wire was to be run. The pink wire is for power "12 volt" terminal on the tach. The tach gets its ground through the case from the dash bezel.
