Quadra-bog fix anyone???
Anyone know how to fix this problem. I have read something about tightening the spring on the secondaries but I have no idea how to do this? Any help would be great. THanks

There are a couple of different ways to stop that.
1# way is to adjust the secondary air plate spring tension. This is done by loosening the sinch bolt for the adjusting screw, then use a small flat blade driver turning clockwise to add tension, counterclockwise to release tension. The tricky part is setting the tension. I've been rebuilding those things for so long I do it by feel and dont remember the actual measurement GM gives. Ever push on the choke air plate when the engine is cold? Thats roughly the amount of tension you'll want to add to the rear plates. Also, if this carb is equipt with the secondary vacuum pod (usually part of the choke pull-off valve) make sure its in good working order. #2 double check your timing and Accelerator pump action. |

Where is this "snich" bolt located on the carb Zkast? And where do you put the flat blade screw driver? Are you supposed to take the "sinch" bolt all the way off? Sorry for all the questions.

This will all be done on the right side of the carb(choke side) the sinch bolt is on the front edge of the shaft boss and the adjustment screw is underneath this same area. You only need to loosen the bolt so it will alow the adjuster screw to be turned. No need to loosen it anymore. They can be tricky to do on the vehicle. I'll try to take a pic of one at the shop tomorrow for you.
