Door Locks

Hello all I have a 72 C10 pickup SWB that I am rebuilding and I want to put an alarm and electric door locks on.

I was looking at the autoloc stuff looks simple but you know how that goes!

Has any one come across any gotch's?

The hard part to putting in power anything is running the wires though the jamb. I suggest browse the junk yards, find one that fits your needs,(long enough to reach when the door is open) preferably round on both ends(makes cutting the hole easier).

You could use Jam Tac connectors. They eliminate the need for wires to cross the door opening. (LMC $39.95)


I used some farm engineering when I put powerlocks on my Nova. I drilled a 1/4" hole on both the door and cab and used grommets. The wires were wrapped in black tape, and a wire tie was placed on both sides of each grommet. Sorry I don't have a pic of it on this online yet. Maybe soon.
