Need high hump help

Seems to be a popular topic lately.

I'm going to be cutting out my low hump and finishing the bolt-up for my tranny this week. I was curious if anyone could give some pictures of:

1) A stock high hump floor that's bolted in.
2) A stock high hump floor with the hump removed.
3) Maybe give a picture showing how much overlap there is.

PS - I already have the high hump replacement from an AT truck.

Here's a pic of my high hump. It's in perfect shape and is shiny and rust free. I just wish I could say the same thing for the rest of my floor!

James - thanks - that's a great picture (i'll stick it to my post). redhead - thanks to you also, I'd like a closer shot of the hump when its off if you got one. I'm open to seeing more pictures if anyone has em.

Shifty - If you have your high hump piece already, position it in place-side to side even and in the forward location. Use a felt permenant marker to outline the edges and the holes. Remove the high hump and sketch out the inside edge. Use slip on nuts(j-nuts or something like that - Lowes carries them) to fasten the high hump down. Cut the hole smaller at first and then enlarge it as needed.

quck question for redhead69 do the new floor pieces come with the studs for the gas pedel and the holes for the high/low switch?

No studs for the pedal. There is an indention for the high/low switch, just have to use some self tapping screws or pre-drill.. havent got that far yet though

Shifty - here are a bunch of pics I took when I was swapping my high hump for a low hump. I have a body lift that allowed me to do the swap to the low hump in my 69 K20. I may have posted some of these before but I figure more is better than less.

Yukon - thanks for the pictures. Based on the pictures, looks like your low hump was welded to the floor originally? Perfect - this is my exact setup (think your pics are backwards in progression though ). Ddi you curl the floor metal over after you cut the hole? It's got a nice little bevelled look to the edge of the hole...If so, how'd you do that?

The low hump came from a boardmember who had a junk cab. He used a torch probably to cut it out. I have never worked with a low hump cab before so I don't know if the low hump is stamped from the floor or is welded in normally. I think what I did is the reverse of what you are doing. I had a high hump cab in my 4wd and I changed it to a low hump - I did this so I wouldn't have to modify my transfer case shifter due to my body lift. I didn't have to modify my floor at all - that is the way a stock high hump floor is - at least in a 4wd. Hope this answers your questions.

I'm not sure how much of a lip I'll have on the floor. Should be pretty interesting weekend getting all this done.
