Question Power Steering Pump

I have a newer motor and accessories in my '69 K20. The power steering pump has the newer pear shaped housing. I have to replace the pump and was wondering if I should stay with the new style or go back to the old style (round with fill spout going straight up). Is there any difference in quality/reliability between the new and old style? The brackets have been "hacked" on and I will probably relace them either way. Will 69-72 Brackets work with both pumps?
