Windshield chrome
Okay, now I'm thoroughly confused. An issue came up on the parts board between the different years of windshield chrome. Several years ago I found a complete set of chrome from a truck, I can't remember what year it was. I thought I could eventually use it for my 67, but now I'm learning that there are 2 different versions of the chrome.
My question is, regardless of what year it came out of, will I be able to use it on my 67 with the correct year of weather stripping, or is that a bad idea? Can anyone provide a picture of the 2 different styles so I can figure out what I have?

Re: Windshield chrome
The later trim had a narrower (1/4 inch) hold down piece that held the trim in the rubber. The earlier stuff had about a 1/2 inch hold down piece. I am unsure on the years though. Someelse will need to jump in.

Re: Windshield chrome
67-70 had the 1/2" lip 71-72 had narrow lip. you need to get the windshield seal for the year of trim you have not the year of truck
in pic front (bottom)1 is 71-72 back (top) is 67-70

Re: Windshield chrome
Thanks very much guys. I'll have to look at what I've got and compare. So my understanding is that I CAN use either of these for my 67; I just need to get the correct weatherstripping right?
How much is a complete setup worth? Not sure how much to ask if I sell mine.

Re: Windshield chrome
Solver; You said front and back on your picture. It would help me if you said top or bottom. I think the top peice is the 67-70 and the bottom is the 71/72 according to other posts. I learned something new today, I think I will go home, wait I'm already there.
Informative post, thanks.

Re: Windshield chrome
The above is correct--only addition is that you need to mount the trim in the rubber seal and the seal on the window and install as an assembly. Trying to install the trim with the glass and rubber already mounted is like impossible. Good luck
