Agreed, it looks pretty darn nice.
However, that chrome ash tray looks totally out of place... if you consider getting rid of it.. let me know. Hey, it's worth a shot. |

Re: look at this new truck i bought on saturday
well i bought the truck for 402 engine/tach dash/tilt column. to go into my 68 truck and the rest will be a parts truck soon. old owner had just put the new tach dash cluster in this truck in dec/05 only had 110 miles when pick up
tach dash cost over $500.00. 402 was rebuilt/th400 just serviced/rear end was rebuild. rear cost $800.00 to rebuild. .................................................................................................... ... Quote:

Re: look at this new truck i bought on saturday
That's a little too nice to part out don't you think? You oughta consider slappin some ratty old 305 or something in there and selling it once you get what you want off of it... take your old non tild column and your inst panel and stuff and bolt it al up... You may well get most your money back.

Re: look at this new truck i bought on saturday
I agree man - Don't part it, its getting harder an harder to find one together like that. you just happened to steel the sh_ _ out of that one.
Man what kind parts do you need, I'm sure most of us would help you get them, rather than seeing you strip that one. Oh yeah you said you wanted the 402, ok thats cool, but do like Longhorn said drop an ol' small block in it and sell it to one of us, that way you know it'll be restored. Hell what part of the country are you in, I'll give you yur money back as soon as you put a Small Block in it. Plus maybe a little for the cost of the motor.. Let me know... Great Find TS |

Re: look at this new truck i bought on saturday
Great Truck. I think you got a great deal. Clean, Stock, No Holes cut in the dash. Yeah it's a great looking truck.
I noticed the tach in the middle of the cluster. Are they hard to come by? I was wanting to incorporate one in my 69 Short Stepside. Thanks, JRB Last edited by JRB; 01-09-2006 at 02:42 AM. |

Re: look at this new truck i bought on saturday
Nice 3/4t former camper trucks in California are generally cheaper and seem to be plentiful. And,even still generally taken for granted out there. Most of the rustfree parts we see at swapmeets back east are from these trucks being parted. You can fit alot of trucks on a trailer when they are reduces to the desireable pieces.
"Save the Camper Trucks!" If it were me (*and it`s not),I would try to resell it nationally for`bout $4,500 and teke the money and buy a crate motor. *Note:If it were me. BTW,the truck in my avatar was sitting on a lot in Modesto for $3,500.
