Ok I have a feeling this is a np205. Its off a 79 350 with a 350 turbo tranny. It has auto lock outs but it wouldnt surprise me if someone down the line of owners changed out the manual ones. Anyone know if its a 203 or 205?

Ok please tell me how you can tell its a 205? Im not second guessing just wanting to learn something here.

That is a 203. 205 has a 3 bolt cover on it. My 75 Jimmy has one. It is a fulltime case.

The only problem I noticed with it being a 203 though is there is no speedometer cable hook up on the pass. side like mine. Hmm...

EDIT- DOH! Directionally challenged today... My speedo is on the left side of the tcase right where it meets the rear drive shaft.

It is a NP203

205 has three covers on rear. One where your plug is located.

That is a 203 case, Somebody musta had 8-10 too many beers one night and put your tailshaft housing on 180 degrees off

... Your speedo output should be towards the botom pointing at the drivers side. Also, i would turn that housing back down where it should be,it might not get enough lube on top.
