It's in the dry side of the state but did anyone notice the Pass front fender has a small part of the lower front cup hacked out?

Re: `70 K2500 on Ebay(Washington State)

Yep. Noticed that too. Also, if you look closely, it has the holes in the doors for 67-69 mirrors. Looking at the other pic that looks up the driver side of the truck, the bottom door flap doesn't sit flush with the rest of the body, and it appears to be that the door is CLOSED (either its a 69 or its made from more than one truck). Theres also something white shoved in between the cab and bed. The old style trucker mirrors don't look very traditional, either. Notice how there is NO pics of the rockers? If that carpet has been in there since new, then the floors are rusted, no doubt about it. Just the few details I saw.

Re: `70 K2500 on Ebay(Washington State)

I'm going to venture a guess and say that there was a slide in camper on the truck. Which would explain the West Coast style mirror transplant from the originals, and it would explain why the bed is so nice of shape, and if I am not mistaken those metal "wings" attached to the front of the bed is for the hold down chains/ties to the camper-to-box attachment, and on the rear bumper are eyelets presumably to secure the rear camper to the bed; and the hole in the front right fender, I would guess to be for one of those long CB antenna mounts(?).

I wonder why it has the red Furd Spicer lockout hubs. Can't tell if it is open or closed knuckle Dana 44 or if the whole axle was transplanted.

Just my 2 cents and theories but in any case, it is a nice clean ol gal.

Some good points there Roger. I figured it was a lightly used farm truck.

Re: `70 K2500 on Ebay(Washington State)

Damn, you guys are cynical as hell.If you ask me,it`s a REAL nice original truck. The mirrors are obviously not original. But,it was a common, and yes, traditional change made by owners of trucks. That would be why there are holes from the originals.I guess you`d have to be crazy to buy a truck that an old man keep inside if his grandchild can`t spell. What`s the problem with the door?I don`t see anything. And,what carpet? That`s a rubber mat.American Rider,I saw that, too.I bet the battery rusted the cup area from sitting and the remedy was to cut it out. What`s your take? How about that original bed floor? It looks like it still has bias 8-plys.

Re: `70 K2500 on Ebay(Washington State)

I'd love that truck in my driveway!!!
My '70 has the 67-69 mirror holes too. I can guarantee you that they are the original doors.....I dont know if they had a lot of leftover doors, but that is what I have.

Re: `70 K2500 on Ebay(Washington State)

Looks like a good old farm truck. Has the original two piece rims and 6 or 8 ply tires just like mine did. As for the doors, my truck has the old 67-69 mirror mouting holes in 'em too, probably because the truck was assembled in '69 and sold in 1970.

Re: `70 K2500 on Ebay(Washington State)

I would put my money on true blue (or gold)original here. Only issue for me is seller has been ebay member since 2000 and no feedback. If I was interested I would get on the phone and talk with seller. I do not want or need a truck like this right now but this one is one of those tempting ones. I have seen a couple of chevys with red lockouts. Not dead sure that some did not come that way. I think centers even said spicer not Ford.

If my son was near 16 I would consider a truck like this. Loose the split rims, add 16" white wheels and radials, add discs up front and shoulder harness seatbelts. Oh yeah and also make sure insurance agent was privy to value. maybe one of those cool glove box radio setups and speakers under the seat. A truck like this might be trun key driver to use causiously.

Re: `70 K2500 on Ebay(Washington State)

I was going to say the same about the red l/o centers. But,since I was scolding I didn`t want to state it as fact(memory`s not what it was).I`ve seen the stick mirrors on`70s,too.I`m an Ebay member and have yet to buy or sell anything. Not since 2000,but I guess it`s possible.Good call on calling the seller. This is a case of third party selling but,it`s family.More info is bound to be available. One of the nicest trucks I`ve bought was similar,garage-kept camper model, meticulously cared for by original owner, owner died, and being sold by the son with no interest, yet could see the meticulous had worn off on him.

Re: `70 K2500 on Ebay(Washington State)

COPIED FROM THE EBAY AD:
This 1970 GMC 4X4 has been kept inside its entire life.
I have purposely photo this truck as it Sits and Drives down the road. It’s clean and 99.9 % rust free. There is a hole in the front fenders where Grandpa mounted his CB antenna. I still have them if you want them? I can’t believe he did that but like I say I’m not hiding anything. This Truck Starts and Drives Like a Dream. Their is no disappointments in this truck. Please feel free to contact me if you have any Questions

The Issue I have is in the above Vehicle Description as posted by the seller. I like the truck as a whole, she looks like a lightly used Camper Queen. If I where to buy it then drive 5 hours across 2 snow covered mountian passes to pick it up only to find that 99.9% RUST FREE ment that the right front fender was either ignored or not included in his discription then I would be just a bit upset. Pictures don't lie.... people do. I don't expect any stock used truck to be perfect, but is it to much to ask for a little honesty from a seller?

It looked like it had carpets in it. I think I got too good of a deal on my truck, and now its rubbing off in to the truck-judging section of my mind. UH OH!!!!! It isn't a bad truck, though.
